The Vigadó is the old-new cultural centre of Kisújszállás. Built 110 years ago, in 1911, the secessionist palace "woke up" in 2015 from a decade and a half of “Sleeping Beauty” sleep: fabulously renovated, with new functions.

The once famous Morgó tavern, located at Petőfistr. 5, was built in 1781 by Károly Rabl, a master builder from Gyöngyös.

Kisújszállás, the heart of the Nagykunság, was already inhabited in the Árpád era - but it has been depopulated several times throughout its history. After receiving permission from Béla IV, the Hungarian population was joined by the Kuns who settled here between 1239-42.
